Our volunteers are essential to the day-to-day operation of the Stover Legion Memorial Park. When you volunteer your time as an individual or as part of a group, it is one of the most valuable contributions you can make to City Park, and you are building a better, stronger park for all of our visitors to enjoy.
On the first Saturday of each month, The Park Board hosts a community volunteering event! Individuals, friends, families, service groups, college organizations, and more come together in a day of service to contribute to the revitalization of Stover Legion Memorial Park. Super Saturday locations and projects vary from month to month.
Community members help maintain the beauty of the Park with the goal of garnering public support through volunteerism, awareness, and partnerships. Volunteers will support this initiative by cleaning up litter, removal of graffiti and storm drain clearings.
This weekly volunteer project involves accomplishing various detailed horticulture tasks. Volunteers will participate in horticulture activities including native plant identification, hand-weeding, removal of plant debris, mulching, pruning, and other related tasks needed to restore and maintain native plant beds along the Stover Legion Memorial Park Trail.
This volunteer project involves accomplishing various details to get the light displays ready for the holiday season and our annual Christmas lights in the park.
Volunteers are crucial to the success of our events because they help things run smoothly and ensure that every attendee has a great time. Our annual fundraisers directly help us keep the Park a thriving green oasis for all visitors.
